Jesus Loves Me
A famous song has gotten the idea into peoples heads that Jesus loves them. The song goes something like, “Jesus loves me this I know, for the Bible tells me so. Little ones to him belong, they are weak but he is strong.” The song goes on to confirm that yes, indeed, Jesus loves you. This could be completely false though.
For instance, it’s hard to love somebody when you can’t remember them. When was the last time you saw Jesus? It’s been awhile, hasn’t it? Yet the song claims that Jesus can remember everyone he ever met in Heaven, throughout the Millenia. I imagine that running into him would be like running into a DJ that you saw perform at a bar three years ago: Hey Man, how’s it goin’? Uhh…Do I know you?
Also, the song claims “they are weak but he is strong.” Obviously the author(s) of the song had never heard of Hulk Hogan or Chuck Norris. Those guys are strong. Really strong.
So, the question is, Does Jesus Love Me? I’d say the answer is a Maybe.
