Jesus offended people

Posted in Jesus On The Web on April 1st, 2006

I just got finished reading this great article by an Episcopal priest. What he’s getting at here is that Jesus offended everybody in his day – the religious leaders, the government, intellectuals…hell, even his own epostles. Today our government commits many atrocities that Jesus would find offensive – war, greedy politicians, exclusionary laws, and many more. I think what the good priest is trying to say is that we shouldn’t be fooled by those that claim to be doing Jesus’ work while doing acts that Jesus would not approve of and that maybe we should take a closer look at what is going on in our world and not just blindly follow those in power. He said it a lot better than I did though…

If you want to get high, get hooked on Jesus

That’s the title of this press release that I just came across. After reading it, I’m not sure where the “get high” part comes in. From what I can figure, the website that the press release is talking about makes fishhook jewelry that shows people how “hooked” on Jesus you are. If that’s your thing then check out the product page.

The resurrection of Jesus – True or False?

Posted in Jesus On The Web on March 28th, 2006

That’s the question that’s being looked at in this article but I feel that the author doesn’t argue both sides of the point so much as give his opinion of why it’s true. Still, he brings up many interesting points if you’re looking for something to reaffirm your belief that Jesus was indeed resurrected and ascended into Heaven. If you’re thinking is otherwise then you might need to do a little more searching for your answers…

Did Jesus lie in the Bible?

This guy seems to think so. Okay, I understand where he’s coming from. I think he’s missing the point of what Jesus was trying to say. Jesus never actually intended for people to cast mountains into the sea, while that would be bad-ass we would quickly run out of mountains. I think what Jesus was saying was that it would be impossible for anyone to actually have the faith required in order to toss a mountain into the sea. It is not in human nature to have faith, regardless of what people will tell you.

Bury your head in the sand, Jesus will take care of everything

If I’m to understand this correctly, we should just do nothing about the troubles in Iraq because when Jesus comes back things will be just fine. I like that plan. It puts a tremendous burden on Jesus while freeing up everyone else to pursue their own thing. Sweet deal.

Stupid Dancing Jesus

Yeah, dancing Jesus went out about six years ago. Still, there must be a need since it’s still around.
