Uncle Jesus
Is Jesus your uncle? This article says most likely not. I’ve often wondered about things like this. If I am to believe the Bible that everything started with Adam and Eve then aren’t we all related when it comes right down to it? Seems to me that if there were only two people responsible for the billions of people we now have then there must have been a lot of incest in the early days. I’m no math wiz or geneticist but that’s my story and I’m stickin’ to it. The Mormons believe that Jesus is our brother and that we knew him in Heaven before we were here on Earth. What are your thoughts about this?

Interesting, but I don’t see the article’s point. Of course I agree we are all related, and there aren’t any scientists that have that in doubt. How closely related we are is up for speculation. Don’t think we are going to have Jesus’ DNA any time soon. Then again, many early Christian Gnostics thought Jesus was just a spirit who only “pretended” to take on human form. This evil nasty mortal body and all. In the end, he does ask us all to become Sons and Daughters of God. That should count for something.
At any rate – Happy Easter.

Jettboy, you’re right, the article doesn’t say much. It’s actually just another attempt to capitalize on the name of Jesus. Funny, the Mormons believe that having a mortal body is necessary to enter the “highest level of Heaven” and you speak of how some Christian Gnostics think he may have pretended to become a human. Just goes to show that even though it’s all Christianity there are many differences.
