I didn’t realize they were still around, but the Jesus and Mary Chain have a box set coming out later this month. Rawk.

Stolen Jesus

Jesus, among other things, has been stolen from a church in Detroit. I’m wondering why they were storing 150 year-old water…sheesh.

Winking Jesus still popular

Posted in Jesus In The News on July 16th, 2006

The New York Daily News is reporting that the “winking Jesus” that showed up in Hoboken, NJ last year is still drawing visitors. I don’t get why people show up at these things, isn’t it forbidden in the Top 10 Commandments to worship idols? I’m reading this article and I’m seeing nothing but idol-worship. Winking Jesus? Puhleeze.

Jesus the Red

I’m not sure why the creators of this wax head think it looks like Jesus, but apparently they do.

Jesus more popular than WoW in the US…but just barely

Posted in Jesus On The Web on July 11th, 2006

According to this site, searches for the game World of Warcraft beat out searches for Jesus everywhere in the world except the US where Jesus garnered more searches. Google has a nice little trend chart that you can check out.

It’s like Doom but with Jesus

Posted in Jesus In The News on July 8th, 2006

Hmm. Seems like there’s a collection of violent video games available that are supposed to encourage ’spiritual warfare’ amongst younger Christians. Man, I just don’t get Christians.

Jews for Jesus feeling some heat

Posted in Jesus In The News, Jesus in Print on July 8th, 2006

The group Jews for Jesus is currently running some advertising in New York City and apparently not everyone is happy with this. Personally, I think it’s hilarious. Why shouldn’t they use advertising? Some guy in the article is quoted as saying “I personally don’t think religion has any place in advertising…” but I don’t hear him screaming about religion and our government. Whatevs, I say that if you have the budget use whatever advertising you can. Another article about it here.
